Chiji Cards are becoming a standard in the experiential education field. They are not simply pretty pictures on a deck of cards, they are a valuable educational tool for all facilitators who recognize processing (or debriefing) as a challenging, and valuable, part of a session. The 48 images on the cards help participants to create their own metaphors and gain more insight into the session or activity. Chiji Pocket Processor uses the Chinese concept of the yin and the yang to teach that most issues are not solved with an either/or solution. For example, effective leaders sometimes assume responsibility and sometimes delegate responsibility. Boundaries can provide structure and sometimes create barriers. The 50 different cards, each represent “two sides of the same coin." allowing participants to explore all options.

The objective is simple - lower the Floating Stick to the ground without ever losing contact with it. It sounds easy but the Floating Stick feels as though it is rising. The team must concentrate and coordinate their efforts to defeat this effect and get the Floating Stick to the ground. Planning, communication and leadership are vital in any project. Pipeline is a deceptively simple tool that helps teams develop these skills. Teams of between 5 and 30 participants have to transport small wooden balls from A to B only using sections of halved plastic pipes. This activity lasts for up to 30 minutes and requires excellent coordination and communication between the participants. This activity is energetic, exciting and easy to facilitate either indoors or outdoors.
